Fibre scanner (TRL4)
The fiber position scanner is a telecentric laser scanner for measuring the position of small objects (diameter < 100 µm). The position of a fiber or the individual positions of fibers in a fiber bundle can be measured with high precision over a large measuring range (e.g. 100 mm x 200 mm).
Optionally, the fiber diameter is measured at the same time (further development).

The figure shows the fiber position scanner. The individual positions perpendicular to the optical axis (distance between transmitter and receiver) of all fibers located in the illuminated area between the transmitter (left) and the receiver (right) can be measured. As the figure shows, the position of the fibers in the direction of the optical axis is not critical. The fibers therefore do not have to be fixed. Only the light from the scanner touches the fibers - the measurements are not falsified by the required boundary conditions (fixing or similar).
By direct, contactless measurements, the know-how and know-why of structural development in production processes can be deepened.
Process development, plant maintenance
Control
The measurements of the positions, diameters and fluctuations in these variables can be used to control production processes.
