Laser scanner for polarimetry and ellipso-metry on flat, extended objects (TRL4)


The imaging laser scanners TSXXX-4k consist of a transmitter unit and a receiver unit. They can be used either for defect, dimensional and material testing of transparent test specimens or for testing flat, shiny surfaces. These tests differ only in the arrangement of the test object and scanner components as well as the parameterization. In principle, they can be combined if necessary (e.g. with partially reflecting surfaces). Compared to camera systems, they are characterized by an extremely large depth of focus.

  • Transparent (transmission > 10%) clear or colored articles with low refractive powers (flat glass, bar glass, windscreens) also with very large depth expansion (e.g. 300 mm for windscreens)

Quantities for characterizing the products
The scanners provide line scans at their image interface (just like line scan cameras). The following quantities can be determined from the images:
  • Absolute values and anomalies of the quantities shown
  • Sizes and accumulations of the defects or anomalies
  • Deviations of the values from those of good samples
  • Dimensions

Depending on the scanner type down to < 10 µm
