Glass scanner I-Mike

 Glass-Scanner I-Mike

for non-contact measurement of transparent articles. The dimensions can also be recorded at the hot end of production. For glass tubes, the diameter and the wall thickness are determined at the same time; diameter and refractive index can be recorded for glass rods. As part of a measuring machine, the I-Mike can also be used to precisely measure siding, ovality, eccentricity and the bending of glass tubes.

Measurements
  • Position
  • Diameter (round items), dimensions
  • Wall thickness / inner diameter (tubes inline / offline)
  • Siding / ovality, eccentricity, bending (rods, tubes offline)
  • Refractive Index (Rods)
  • Two diameters (perpendicular and parallel to the optical axis) for rods.
Optional
  • Birefringence of tubes/rods
  • polarimetric measurements
The object position in the measuring field is not critical (telecentric laser scans). Precise measurements at the hot end of production are possible (requires cooling of the sensor).

Application areas

Production control
The objects can already be precisely measured during production (even at the hot end). As a result, production can be decisively improved: Manufacturing tolerances and rejects can be minimized.

Quality control
The software (IMD) contains functions for creating test reports for tubes and bars. These contain the extrema as well as the mean values of diameter and wall thickness as well as siding, ovality and bending.

Volumetry
The enclosed volume can be determined by measuring the inner diameter over the length of the object. The usual filling can be omitted (TRL 2).
